Top of the Hill by Tony Gaier, President

This month's evaluation is on May 27th, at 9:00AM. It will be a land navigation evaluation at Embudito Canyon Trailhead. The June evaluation will be on the 30th at 9:00AM. It will be a litter handling evaluation at Three Gun Springs Trailhead. If you plan to attend one or both evaluations please leave a voice message on the hotline as soon as possible.

I'm sure that everyone has noticed the lack of missions lately. Since skills and knowledge are easily lost if not used, I'm encouraging everyone to attend ESCAPE if they can. This will be a great opportunity for senior members of the team to refresh their skills and knowledge and newer members to learn many new things. So I hope to see you there!

Who's Who and New by Tom Rinck, Membership Officer

I would like to welcome two new prospective members: Randy Ferrin and Brian Musselman. I would also like to remind prospective members and their mentors to work together whenever they can so that we can be a strong SAR team.

Gearing Up by Mark Espelien, Equipment Committee chair

Because we have some new radios on-line (and also for the new members of the team), I want to remind everybody of the gear we have available for check-out. The intent of this equipment check-out program is to allow members to use the gear, become familiar with the gear, and eventually encourage team members to buy their own gear. I think the radios will also encourage members to get their ham license.

Currently available gear:

Check-out period is 6 months. I will have the gear and sign-out sheets at the business meeting. This gear does no good sitting in the gear cache, so check it out!
